Started EC yesterday

We started EC yesterday with lo and we caught 9 pees and 1 poo and only used 3 diapers. Today we were out and about more so we've only caught 3 pees so far but overall we're doing better than I ever expected The tips I found in this article really helped get the ball rolling https://tribalbaby.org/EChowtostart.html

We offer peepee time after each feeding and after she wakes up or if she's fussing at the breast. Anyone else out there doing EC or interested in trying it? We're pretty alone in this endeavor right now.

That is great success! I'm thinking about EC with my next one. Reading the EC chapter in Beyond the Sling was really encouraging.

Hey, I'm a lurker, but I really enjoy this board. I'm interested in trying EC, but I'm waiting until 4 mo. I tried it a few weeks ago, but at the time he didn't have very good neck strength and trying to hold him over the toilet was uncomfortable for us both. By the time we start again, he should be able to hold his head up w/ little help from me & we'll have an extra bathroom so I won't have to worry about moving our potty seat (when we purchase it) whenever someone needs to use the restroom. I just want everything to be as easy as possible when we start again. GL to you.

What a great start! We began when DS was 2-3 months.

PP mentioning neck control for your young baby...if you'd like to start now there are other ways than over the potty. You can start to cue baby/allow her to go in her loosened diaper while laying down (or sitting in your lap with the diaper between you).

I wish I would've read more and tried with my LO when he was younger.  I noticed him sort of grunt and get a little red the other morning so I took him to his potty, sat with him and gave him a bath toy to hold, and we caught a poop!  Then later that day just sat him on the potty to show my H, and he peed!  I was so excited, I thought I want to read more about signals and cues and try more with our son, and from earlier on with our next baby.  I haven't had tons of success (just the one pee and one poop), but it's pretty thrilling when it happens.  I never thought I'd feel that way about the potty, ha!

We started at six weeks using the Baby Bjorn "Little Potty". It is pretty amazing and I feel like we understand our baby so much more than some of our friends who aren't doing EC. 

We have had one "regression" while she was working on rolling over. We catch many pees and almost every poop. We haven't started taking a potty with us when we are out of the house, but may start doing that soon.

We are loosely! We catch most poops, we don't really try with the pees but we put her on the potty each diaper change and after naps so she often does pee there.

We have been doing it since 5 months, I don't keep lo diaper free because I feel that would be too time consuming but I offer lots of opportunities to use the potty and usually catch his morning poop and several pees a day.  Looking forward to warmer weather when he can go diaperless outside and on the beach
