I went in today for an ultrasound after having bleeding and pretty severe cramping since Sunday. I should have been 6w1d today, but the sac has not increased in size. It had also moved down trying to pass through the cervix. My doctor gave me the option of Cytotec or D&C. I chose Cytotec, and I took (2) 100 mcg pills orally at around 12:30 PM (I couldn't do the vaginal method since my flow has been like a period-sorry TMI). I've had some waves of nausea and a few painful cramps (both stomach and back), but that's about it. The bleeding has almost stopped completely instead of increasing, and I'm wondering if this is normal. Thank you for any information and support. I've ready some of the posts on this board today, and I'm so sorry for all of your losses.

I'm sorry for your loss.  I have no experience with Cytotec so I can't help with that.

I'm so, so sorry for your loss and I'm sorry that you even have to be here on this board. However, the women here are so wonderfully supportive and helpful, so I hope you will continue to use this forum as a resource. Do continue to be in close contact with your doctor to monitor how you're doing and make sure that your health is not in any danger. I myself had a 'natural miscarriage" early on and was able to go through it at home without and medical intervention, so I can't give any advice about Cytotec. Just make sure you're in touch with your doctor to ensure that your health is not in danger as your progress through this process.

Again-- my deepest sympathies for your loss, I know how hard it can be to go through this. ((hugs))

Thanks everyone! I talked to the doctor's office this morning, and they don't want me to take any additional meds. I do have a follow-up appointment on Monday morning, and they will decide about doing a follow-up exam at that point. Thanks again for the kind words.
