My babies are here!

And I am Team Pink!  They came into the world on April 2nd at 12:42 and 12:44 via c-section at 30  1/2 weeks.  My preeclampsia was progressing very fast and they made the call on April Fools that this had to happen for the health of us all.  It was so surreal and I had just sent my DH home from the hospital to get some rest.  Of course on his way back there was traffic because of an accident but he somehow got back soon.

 My doctor the anestesioligist everyone we were cracking jokes in L& D  (I mean I was scared so thats how I relieve stress)  When they showed me my first little girl I was so overjoyed.  There really was nothing like that surprise.  I looked at my husband and said who do you think is next and there was some confusion as to if it was a boy or girl my doctor said Happy Birthday to you sweet little girl.  Two girls!!  It was more than I could take and I was so overjoyed.

THey are in the NICU now.  The girls are absolute champs and doing so so well getting stronger everyday. They came out crying when they were born and are breathing the equivalent of room air.

They have already gained weight and are 2lbs 15 ounces and 3lbs. My heart is so full sometimes I think it is going to burst. I get discharged on Friday so that is bitter sweet. I hate to leave them but I know they are in an amazing NICU. All the nurses really are great. But I hate going home without them with me one way or the other.

Their names are Kea.la Ame.lie and Rey.na Kai.

    Congrats!  So glad to hear your girls are doing so well!  My little boys were born yesterday at 29w4d and I'll be discharged tomorrow while they stay in the nicu.  I know exactly what you mean about it being bittersweet.

    That blows my mind that your girls are here!  I completely remember you making your announcement and it was seriously just yesterday.  Your post brought a tear to my eye....so incredibly happy for you Koyn.  Huge congrats mama!  Can't wait to see pics of your sweet, sweet girls.
