I saw your post below about going to Growth and Nutrition... I am in MA too and we are scheduled to go in a month. Did you do it through Childrens? Can you tell me more about it?
We went to Children's in Boston and met with Dr. Watkins and Dwan Horne, the nutritionist. We were referred to Dr. Watkins because Annie's growth was and still is slow - she is gaining, but hasn't had any real catch up growth. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Watkins. He is like a kind, gentle, encouraging old grandfather. We talked about her developmental milestones, her eating habits and then he did a physical exam. Bottom line is he looks more towards development then size to judge how healthy a kid is. He didn't see anything in her that would warrant further testing so we just left it at that.
Dwan, the nutritionist was really nice, but not entirely helpful as we were just getting into a good groove with purees when we met. But she did give us some good ideas and tips on how to get some extra calories into her diet.
Please let me know if you have any other questions - while its frustrating to have a nugget who isn't really catching up to her peers just yet, its comforting to know that shes healthy in all other respects of her development.
