I just had my first u/s. By my LMP I'm 6w, but I ovulated 3 days 'late' so I should really be 5w4d. We only saw a gestational sac, yolk sac, possible fetal pole and possible tiny heartbeat. (They were so tiny I couldn't really see them...measured less than 2mm. Nurse supposedly could kind of seen what may be that) Which i guess can be considered normal?
The worse part though is that I have a subchorionic hemmorrhage and they said we have a 50/50 chance of this being a viable pregnancy. They said even after seeing a heartbeat (hopefully next week) we still have a high chance of losing the baby. We just have to wait until my body absorbs the blood or I bleed it out.
I'm so scared to lose this baby. All I want is for my daughter to have a little sister or brother! Through infertility and other miscarriages and just can't do this again...I'm a mess. Anyone else experience this? (And please, no need to sugar coat things.) My RE just said we have to wait...it's 50-50 chance.
Re: Subchorionic hemorrhage
Natural MC - 4/18/10 (9 weeks)
DS was born six weeks early on December 2010!
Natural MC - 11/21/11 (7 weeks)
DS born full term on October 2012!
Yes, the hemmorrhage was right behind the gestational sac. The gestational sac and hemmorrhage were about the same size.
I had a huge one. While there is no scientific proof as to why, IF patients commonly get these...my RE said they see them in about 50% of patients. Mine probably started around week 8, but they didn't catch it via u/s, so I got to rush to the ER after a giant gush and a clot half the size of my fist. I continued to bleed at varying levels until week 19, and spotted until 22. Normally they resolve by week 20, but mine was declared resolved at 23 weeks. There are details and u/s pics in my blog starting Dec. 2010 if you want more info about it.
ETA: I asked many times, but all drs. I spoke with said it would not increase my risk for placental abruption or PTL (even after DS came 5 weeks early, they did not think there was a corealation as my 27 week cervical length check was great). If the SCH is above the baby there is a greater risk than if it is below it. Mine was below and in front, so my cervix acted as a pressure release valve (hence the several major bleeds I had). My SCH was the same size as the entire amniotic sac at 13 weeks.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
