City select - when to move to 2nd seat

Lydia is 7mo and sitting up independently. We still have her in the infant seat with adapter bar, but I am wondering if we can move her to the 2nd seat? I'm a little nervous because we have had a tough time getting the straps tight enough for Eliza. When did you move to the 2nd seat? What is your favorite arrangement for the 2 seats?

Thanks for asking this!   I know BJ says 6 months...but I am curious if that felt right for others.    Especially since I am anxious to get miss super heavy off of the front tires so it steers a bit more easily!   I am hoping it works to have H up front facing me and Anna by me facing out...

We moved DD when she wasnt in her infant seat anymore (which was probably around 7 months).  In the beginning, I had her on the top facing me and DS on the bottom facing out.  Since she was facing me, I could recline her seat so she wasnt sitting straight up.  I was also able to get the straps snug enough - maybe not carseat snug but snug enough that I was comfortable that she wasnt going to fall out.

Now I still have her on the top and him on the bottom but they both face out.  It would be easier to push if I could put him up top but he likes to be able to get in and out.  I have her footrest all the way back so that if I need to recline her seat a little, I can, but at this point, she just wants to be kicking her brother.

In theory, this seems like the best option but I see the LO getting kicked in the face - accidentally, of course.

Oh geez... Didn't even think of that!   I guess we will have to see just how long her legs are when we make the switch!    Eek!

I moved my twins from infant car seats to the regular BJCS seats at around 8 months.  I faced them both forward so they could look around.  I've actually never arranged them any differently.  Although now the kid in the back seat leans over and pulls the hair of the kid in the front seat
