I pronounce it like label or cable. But I was recently looking at the SSA list for top baby names in 1900, and there are a ton of variations that were used in that time! I was surprised because I thought youneek spellings were more of a modern thing. If I remember correctly, the top 500 included Mabel, Maybell, and Maybelle (and maybe a few others).
