31 weeks and possible pre-e

Today I had my drs appt... Ive been having dizzy spells so they pushed up my drs appt.  My blood pressure was elevated 135 over 72 and im usually 110 over 70 and  I had traces of protein in my urine.  Im kind of freaking out now.  They are putting me through a bunch more tests tomorrow to see if its pre-e or not..Of course I googled which I shouldnt have and Ive completely freaked myself out.  I pray to God that everything will be ok and I can take this baby to term.  Any other mothers going through this?

Re: 31 weeks and possible pre-e

  • Just calm down...freaking out will make your blood pressure shoot up even more.  Because of my low PAP A protein I'm at risk of developing Pre-e and I have also had protein found in my urine recently.  Fortunately my blood pressure has remained somewhat normal but there are times I get really stressed out and my DH tells me I need to calm down so my blood pressure doesn't shoot up.

I would just take it one day at a time and try not to get too worked up until the doctors tell you what the results are.

  • Hoping for the best for you.  I had pre-e last time delivered at 38 weeks.  It sucks so I really hoping it's not pre-e!  Try to take it easy.

  • I was diagnosed with pre-e for my first at 34 weeks.  I was put on bedrest and had my daughter at 38.5 weeks, and things were fine!  Try not to freak out, your doctors will be monitoring you a little more closely just to make sure.

  • I'm definitely trying to take it easy but I can't seem to calm down.  My heart is always racing and Im always thinking..  I am trying so hard to just calm myself but I cant.  Any suggestions?
  • I currently have high BP as well. You really do need to try and stay calm throughout this. Many people develop pre-e and everything turns out fine. You are in good hands with your dr!
