I will never understand why people say the rudest crap. Earlier today, DH and I went and grabbed breakfast and the waitress asked when I was due. DH answered and the waitress replied "There's just one in there?" I just looked at DH and rolled my eyes.
Then tonight I went to get a pedicure and one of the employees asked when I was due to which she replied, "Wow you're big!"
WTF! I am measuring perfectly but for whatever reason every one has to drop their 2 cents in about how big I am. I got in the car and started crying.
Re: "There's just one in there?"
I got the "are you SURE you're not having twins?" from women at work all the time with DD...it gets old really fast!! But, my "favorite" (sarcasm) was when the same people would look at me every single day starting a few weeks before I was even due and say "You're still here?" Ummm...are you looking at me? Then, yes, I'm still here. Dumbass! LOL!
This time, I'm a SAHM, so I don't have to hear any of it and it's great :-)
I am getting a lot of rude comments too. My husband and I went to the store last weekend and the cashier asked if I was due in April, I said no mid June. Then she proceeded to ask if we were having twins and I said no I am sure it's just one baby. Then she told me a story on how someone she knew recently had twins and had no idea until they were born and it might happen to me.
Then that same week, I sat down on nearby chairs at the checkout aisle as my husband stood in line and some lady goes "Wow due any day now" and I said no mid June and she kept saying how I was big but have a short torso...blah blah
Rude people are everywhere!
This! I try to stick to tight, dark colored tops. They seem to get the best response from the peanut gallery.
People have asked me that, too!! Any family or DH's family have asked out of genuine curiosity because my Dad is a fraternal twin.
But strangers have asked me and for a while, it didn't occur to me that they were essentially saying that I was looking big. It doesn't really bother me at all, I just think, why do people feel like they can be filter-free to pregnant women?
Babies (and weddings) make people crazy and then come up with the most bizarre *** to say and you think 'where in the hell did you get that crap from?'...BFF is getting married in October and she was venting about family comments.
I am really short so I have no where for the weight or baby to go, so I get the really big/about to pop/twins comments all the time.
My cousin had twins a year ago, so my aunt kept pressing that I was having twins, I finally had to say "the chance of me having twins and not knowing about it are less than 5% after 9 weeks and since I have seen him at 12 and 20 weeks there is only one in there, I AM NOT HAVING TWINS! That kind of shut her up. My problem is a alot of it is water weight so I look bigger than I am, due to all the swelling.
So ready to have this LO out and in my arms, then the attention can be on him and not me. Not that I will want to talk about my baby with total strangers, so that will kind of suck too!
I'm tired of the twin comments also. Yes I'm sure, I've had a lot of pictures. No there isn't room for another one to be "hiding."
