At my OB appt last week the PA informed be that mine was very long. The average is 3-5 cm and mine is 5.6cm. I didn't think much of it other than hmm maybe that's why our IUIs were so successful first try when naturally we weren't having much luck... but now I'm googling and I've read that I have a much higher chance of needing a C section since it will take that much longer to efface.
Anyone else been told they have a long cervix? I'm planning to ask the OB about it at my next appt.
Re: Anyone been told the have a very long cervix?
I'm 5'8" and was wondering if height made a difference. I was also told my cervix is long.
Thanks for all of the input. I was getting down after that stupid article I read.

But so glad to know I'm not a freak of nature haha. And yes, I am about 5'8" so that could def explain it.

My ob said my pelvis was small and baby might not fit. But then I just told him my pelvis is already stretching and he's like that's great.
Dont worry about being longer. It's called human diversity. Some women have shirt cervixes and some have longer ones. If he thad told me that, I would just plan on taking in a lot of prostagladins ahead of time.
