Two Under 2

Another double stroller post...

Do any of you know of any double umbrella stroller that can hold an infant car seat?  We have an Eddie Bauer car seat.  I am debating on what to do about a stroller.  I know eventually I want a double umbrella stroller and ultimately would only need a double that accommodates an infant seat for the first 7 months or so (until the baby is out of his infant seat).  I have contemplated wearing the baby and sticking with the single stroller, but I don't like the idea of interrupting the baby's sleep to get him out of the car seat and into the carrier.

Thanks! (Ignore the siggy-haven't changed it since the loss of one of the twins).

Re: Another double stroller post...

  • You might want to look at the City Mini Double.  The 2011 version weighs the same as a Maclaren Twin Triumph.  I'm not sure how much the 2012 version weighs, but I'm assuming it is heavier due to more features.  You can buy a car seat adaptor for it, but I'm not sure if it's compatible with an Eddie Bauer seat.  Happy stroller shopping!

  • Based on the research I've done I don't think there are any. I don't know that there are any single umbrella strollers that accept carseats either.

HOWEVER, you might want to check out the Combi Twin Sport. It is lightweight (for a double) and has a really unique fold that is somewhat umbrella-like. It accepts a Combi Shuttle carseat out of the box, but the salesman at BBB stuck a Chicco Keyfit 30 in there and it worked well enough for this devil-may-care mom. Of course there are downsides (basically: it's cheap) and I encourage you to check out the reviews on Amazon and Youtube.

We just got the Combi Twin this past weekend (used). I did fit the Chicco KeyFit on there too, but it wasn't too secure. Honestly I'd probably use it too even though you technically aren't supposed to. Embarrassed

We also have the City Mini Double and there is NO WAY a car seat will fit in there without an adapter. Then the adapter makes the stroller way bulky.

They Combi Twin may be cheaper than the City Mini but overall I'm liking it a lot better. Never thought in a million years I'd say that...

  • Thanks, ladies.  I will look into the Combi.
