I've always disliked that crib stuffed in a corner look in a nursery (though my nursery sure isn't designer. Or even decorated). So DD's crib sits in the middle of a wall but perpendicular to it, like an adult bed would be. It's worked great so far because we can get to both sides of it (awesome for changing sheets) and it kinda obscures the changing table messiness from the doorway. But I'm thinking since DD is getting bigger and accumulating more toys she will need more floor space. Has anyone left their crib in this position or if you have it against the wall any advice, pros/cons about it?
Re: Where is your crib?
Same here. We have it there for two reasons: (1) our nursery is huge, but there's a queen bed in it and just about every wall has a doorway and/or low wall vent, so we have limited location options for the crib, and (2) If we move it from the wall, it's very hard to get most of the crib covered by our video monitor. There is one bad thing about the location - he loves to kick the wall and that wall is shared by the master.
Against the wall, but not in the middle of the room:
This is our problem. We have a huge wardobe, dresser, changing table and recliner in there so with the window and air vent we're limited. The wall it's on is about the only place for it so the only thing I could do is turn it sideways against the wall. Ugh, moving furniture!
