I know you are all dying to know. LOL.
He seems to be doing okay. He had 2 poop accidents in his underwear (that was fun to clean up-NOT) and a few pee accidents here and there. Today he had a major pee accident. It was around noon, and he hadn't peed at all yet today. So of course as soon as he undewear went on and pants he peed. At least that's what I assume. It's not I saw him get off the potty and he peed in front of me. I just saw that he was wet. I guess the good thing was that he was dry/held it in from 8 til about noon. He was drinking all morning so I was shocked that he held it in.
yesterday we went to the Pedi and he held it in all morning. No accidents while out. Then he peed a river in the potty when we got back.
I'm hoping we are on the right track here. he gets a sticker and M&M (preferably green) as his rewards.
Today hasn't gone as well as the past three days. he has yet to pee in the potty today. he has sat on it quite a few times, but just a little dribble came out after he had that major accident this morning.
I guess we'll just take it one day at a time.
Re: Update on potty training:
Oh, poop accidents are the worst. We got really lucky and only had a handful (possibly because her poop is so mushy she probably hated sitting in it even for a minute, but also I think because she quickly learned that when her tummy hurt, she probably had to poop...we actually have only had pee accidents since December). If I was with her alone, I just threw out her underpants, DH got so mad, but I didn't give a crap....pun intended.
Anyway, you are definitely going in the right direction. Keep it up!
Thanks. I had a feeling he was going to have a major accident today. He wanted to stay upstairs (while we were downstairs). he never does that. he always wants to be where DH or I are. A little birdy told me to go upstairs and see what he was up to. I see him looking out the window and I kneeled down in a pool of pee before I saw it.
It sounds like it's going pretty well!
At least he knows when he needs to pee, and can hold it...I think he will be fine once he learns to love the ease of peeing in the potty and not having to stop playing to get changed after a pee accident!
Thanks. For now when we are downstairs he will sit on the potty in the living room, not in the bathroom. But upstairs he will sit on the potty in the bathroom. I'm not willing to *make* him sit in the bathroom when we are downstairs. Just not worth the fight, IMO. One step at a time. Next step being actually peeing on the real potty. I may have to give my sister my extra potty seat to use when he's over there, since he won't sit on a potty ring.
