Introducing solids

When did you introduce solids?  Did you wait until the doctor told you to and why?  Just seeing what others are doing .

  • Our ped is fine with introducing solids betwen 4-6 months. I am starting this Saturday, DS will be 5 months next week. He's ready. He was breastfed, now he is formula fed, and he chugs his bottles so fast. He STTN, is almost sitting up, is rolling back and forth, and stares at our food while we eat! Oh, yes, he is ready for food!

  • Our pedi said we could start when we wanted (after the 4 month appt), but to wait until LO was sitting up a little better.  We started rice cereal at 5 months and did that for 2 weeks and then oatmeal for 2 weeks.  We started our first vegetable this week (LO will be 6 months next week).
