Trouble TTC

Can I ask a favor of you all?

One of the boards is having trouble dealing with the validity of the fundraiser and where the funds will end up. They are concerned over the fact I am not a regular on their board .

I really don't want the questioning of my integrity to hinder the fundraising efforts, so I would like to ask a favor of those who know me:

Could you vouch for me in this post so I can link them to it?  I'd rather not give details about which board it is because I hate when people complain to one board about another!  Since I've been a regular here for quite sometime, I figured this would be the best place to get a character reference.

I will also be adding a link to it in the actual post for others who have similar concerns and are not on this board.

Please be honest either way! Thank you so much!

Re: Can I ask a favor of you all?

  • Hi Adoruhbul, I saw the two boards with concerns and actually posted on one of them because I didn't particularly remember you from posting here (so sorry, since I saw you mention that you'd been here for a year).  This is why I think it's good to have a unique picture in people's siggy's.  To help everyone differentiate between people.  But that being said, there were many folks over on the IF Veterans board who vouched for you after having dealt with you for the OOP meds program the other month for the IF board.  So if you need people to talk about how you're legit, you might want to reach out to some of those girls personally who already spoke up over there, and see if they would want to say the same thing over on the other board.

Again, I am sorry some people (myself included at the beginning) didn't believe the validity of your post but there's just so many of us that sometimes people get lost in the mix, and sincerity is questioned.

I've actually posted daily for over a year now. I recently changed my saggy pic because of the fundraiser.  I use to have an angel, on top it said "angel babies" and the bottom said "gone to soon". Before that I had my very well known newlyweds inside intel pic and next to it a yellow baby wanted pic with a blinking giraffe.  I unfortunately lost my newlyweds inside when I became pregnant the first time. I didn't save it when I changed to a ticker and couldn't find the same pic again after the m/c. Hopefully that will help you remember me?

  • I read through both of the posts on the unnamed board and I have to admit I don't blame them. No one accused you of anything - they just asked questions because they don't know you and they're not familiar with the IF board style of fundraising and the perceived lack of anonymity with the donation amounts being posted. I can vouch for the fact that you've never been anything but supportive of me, but I'm not part of the donor meds program, so I'm not on that level with you. And I have to say I agree with atlb's comment about the "MY goal" phrasing is very odd - I think that made it seem like it was more personal to you, and not in the way I'm sure you intended. I haven't been involved in fundraisers, and I don't think you're insincere, but I do see where they're coming from in trying to get more information about you. In the future, I think maybe it would have worked better to keep the donation on the board where you knew her (IF) - and where this is a common reaction to a member's loss - and post a link on the other boards she was a part of to make it clear that this is an IF board fundraiser, and you're giving the unnamed board members an opportunity, if they wish, to contribute to it.

OK, Yes, I do remember the giraffe/intel pic!  Thank you.  I do "know" you now.  I saw prettyaccountant's response on the multiples board and don't think you need any more validation than that!!! If the person you are raising money for speaks up about the horrible truth to the situation (both about losing her sweet triplets which was so heartbreaking) or about the costs involved in both her ambulances and burial according to her Jewish faith, I think there should not be any doubt in anyone's mind now.  I'm sure today you will see more donations made.

And I for one am going to do it right now.

Again, I apologize for not recognizing your name and having any doubt.  You are a part of our 3T community and clearly have a huge heart for doing this, and working with the March of Dimes.  (((BIG HUGS)))

  • I will vouch for you wherever. At first I didn't realize who you were but then I read your response to Katib and was like OH YEAH!!!!!! lol I was wondering where that girl went LMAO so sorry. I would also like to point out my not realizing your name says "adorable". For the longest time I thought it was some secret code lol so in my head I have two different people. Glad I got that cleared up!

I think its wonderful what you are doing and amazing that you got the March of Dimes involved. I am happy for the incentive because now I get something special out of my donation for me to cherish and remember my own losses as well. This is definitely something that hits way too close to home. Thank you for doing this for her and essentially for anyone who's ever been through this.

    HUGS!

I do vouch for you - you were on here for a long time and a regular board member here. That's legit!

But I have to say that fundraising on here makes me uncomfortable, no matter the cause. I think that the overall practice of giving money to someone from a msg board (that you've never met) to be a awkward and odd process.

But I do support the spirit of the cause - please don't think that I don't. But I don't blame anyone for not wanting to do it.

With all that said, I think you must have a big heart to do this for someone you don't know (I presume). I wish you luck.

I agree with this.  I'll be honest in that I've "side-eyed" the sheer number of times it has been posted/XP'd.
