3. Even though K's dissertation is complete she will still be MIA for at least the rest of this week/weekend.
4. #3 - I'm going to use all of that time to enjoy every moment of having the house to myself (and watching crappy reality tv that she hates - lol!).

6. My "biggest loser" weigh-in at work is not going to be pretty today.

8. DD currently loves Winnie the Pooh. I have no idea where/how she learned about Winnie but it's adorable that it makes her so happy.
9. Because of #8 I decided to pull up Winnie the Pooh videos on YouTube for DD last night. Watching Pooh for the first time in years I realized he is a self-indulgent little bear that has no portion control ;-)
10. And on that note - I'm hungry - lol!
1. Owl has hardly been eating lately, it's so hard to see her struggle so much.
2. 7 days until the hearing...
3. I've been BodyRocking.
4. We watched Soul Surfer last night, it made me cry.
5. I want to take the kids to the zoo.
6. I've been craving food from John's Incredible but I know if we were to go I would binge.
7. I would really like a decaf soy toffee nut latte from Starbucks.
8. Every disposable we've used recently has leaked or had a blowout, I can't wait to find out if the girls are staying or not so we can buy more cloth or not.
9. My mom is happy and that makes me happy.
10. I usually eat like crap on the days J is off work, my priority for today and tomorrow is to eat well while she is home.
Two Mommies Healing Hearts
1. We are still trying to figure out what to do for our vacation in August. We were thinking of going to my dad's in Georgia (beach, nice house, relaxing, can see friends, near enough to a city to have things to do) but August in Georgia? Ohmigosh. Hot. Like Hell hot.
2. So, I have been looking at rentals on Cape Cod. Thing is, I know nothing about the Cape and wonder if there is enough to do there with the kids. They don't like the beach for more than 15m so that can't be our main source of entertainment. We don't want to go go go, but we need stuff to occupy our time.
3. I've also looked at going to Boston - but worry that it won't be relaxing at all since we'll be go go go all of the time.
4. Got a speeding ticket in the mail from when L was driving my van. $125. DC police don't play nice.
5. We are having a happy hour tonight with a bunch of the social workers. Should be fun and it is nice out!
6. I stayed late last night (although not as late as TWB - poor thing!) and got a lot crossed off my list. Apparently, in my mind that justifies me spending the morning looking for vacation rentals.
7. This camp thing is awesome. They are so worn out by the time they get home, they are asleep immediately by 8pm. No cajoling people to stop chatting and go to sleep this week!
8. I have another 3 day weekend this weekend! I could get used to this!
9. I can't wait for the Philly GTG. The kids are going to be so excited to see Sprout!
10. Taco Day today at work. Yum. Off to work before going to score my tacos.
1. Two years old is going to be the end of me.
2. I'm working at work today instead of at home. Boo.
3. But that's because I have off with Gwen on Friday... yay!
4. At least #2 means that I have a Ben & Jerry's near me, so I can stop by for free scoop day!
5. Which makes me glad that I was in such a hurry this morning I only had time to grab a SlimFast shake for breakfast. Exactly why I have them on hand!

7. Trav talked and we are on a 4 year plan to get out of our house.
8. That both makes me happy (at least we have a time limit) and depressed (that will be over 2x how long we planned to stay in this house originally).
9. It also makes it almost impossible for me to get a new job right now.

Bloggity Blog - You know you want to...
1. I had my fourth (and final from this IVF) FET this morning.
2. The doctor who is normally very gentle and conscientious jammed the speculum into my cervix which literally made me yell.
3. I immediately started crying after the transfer was over. Partially because I was still in pain an starting to cramp and partially because I honestly never thought we'd get to the point where we were transferring our last embies and still have empty arms.
4. Decided not to go to work after the transfer. So I'm sitting I the couch with MH watching a documentary on cruises.
5. Our first home visit with the foster care social worker is this week. We are tryin to get the house ready!
6. We spent the weekend away for MH's upcoming birthday. It was so nice to get away for the weekend.
7. I am going to make a traditional Scilian Easter pie this week, I'm hoping it comes out half as good as my grandma's
8. I got a call from my sister yesterday who told me that my nephew who is three, was engrossed in reading a cook book (which is basically the only type of book I read). I spoke with him and he told me he wants to live with me in a house made of cookies...totally melted my heart!
9. We're still waiting to hear back on a job interview MH had last week. It would be awesome both financially and for him personally. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

7/31/12 Surrogate got a +HPT!!!!
1. I know what you mean about not having had much time to talk (though our schedules arent nearly as crazy) - I've been going to the gym so much in the evenings which is usually my time with DW, i feel like we havent gotten a chance to talk in ages.
2. the annoying thing is that despite all my gym-going, the scale isnt budging!! in fact, this morning i was up .4. okay, okay, its not much but still!
3. I'm considering Whole30 - has anyone tried it?
4. I brought RB to the salon this morning (her first trip) and all the little old ladies were LOVING her.
5. We are supposed to be adopting the kids next week but still havent gotten the exact date - wtf?!?!
6. the kids' SW was telling us that she submitted adoption ppwk for 3 different families on the same day - ours is the only one that hasnt been finalized yet.

8. RB's tonsil/tube surgery recovery was so much easier than i anticipated. she's a trooper.
9. Its funny, though - after the surgery, her voice has changed. much less raspy and more high pitch kiddie voice. its adorable and strange all at once.
10. Sprout did an awesome job at his first tball practice last night. DW is so proud
Blogs: Our Growing Family - CT Working Moms
1) My kid wore jammies to the sitter's today. She insisted "jammies on, mamma" when I tried to change her this morning and quite frankly with a toodler I pick my battles carefully and wearing jammies (pants and a t-shirt set) is not high on my priority list.
2) I just got called an idiot by a customer...
3) Have I mentioned my vacation was not nearly long enough?
4) Ann got called at almost 11 PM by her work's alarm company asking why the alarm was not set. Um, they closed over 3 hours ago why are you just now calling??
5) Thankfully her assistant that lives 5 minutes from the building (v our 35 minutes) called and agreed to go over and set it.
6) We did not even need to bother with a BFP/N this month since AF showed up right on time.
7) I ate breakfast late and now I am not hungry for lunch but a snack. I know I will be starving by the time I get Ky BUT I usually wait and eat dinner with Ann. Maybe a snack after work?
8) I have a really good new book on my Kindle, I cannot put it down but I really need to take a break from my desk
9) Last new book I bought lasted roughly 24 hours....I need some good FREE read suggestions please
10) I got to talk to my bestie from NE for almost an hour on Sunday and I cannot wait until June for her to visit!!!!
1. Our March insemination didn't work.
2. I'm trying to stay positive - it was a long shot that it would work on the first try, and we knew that.
3. Now we're making plans for April.
4. I bought my ticket to see the PostSecret event at Cleveland State University on the 18th and am really excited for it! I've been wanting to go to an event for a few years now.
5. I got a new pair of glasses this week! I love being able to see again
6. We took the pup to a new groomer last week and I think they gave her a small cut on her bum. She's so irritated and has a hard time sitting down. I really hope, for their sake, that I dont have to bring her to the vet for it or they'll hear an earful.
7. J is still considering the Coast Guard. She's trying to get back in shape and then plans to speak to a recruiter to find out her options. Since we're a same sex couple, the only way -we think- that I'll be able to go wherever she goes is if we have a mutual dependent. Thankfully we're already in the TTC phase of our relationship!
8. The only hiccup we have with #7 is that she may not make the age requirement if we don't conceive soon. No pressure or anything... Lol.
9. I'm tired of this crappy, rainy, freezing weather. Bring back the sunshine already!

*DS 6/28/2013*
1. Fannie or Freddie is holding up the closing of my house (because it's a short sale). Their decision can take from 3 days to 2 weeks. (!!!) Today is day 4. Apparently this is new and nobody saw this coming. Sigh...
2. #1 makes me feel so unsettled.
3. This morning about 15 minutes before we needed to leave, E asked me to find her sunglasses on the off chance that it gets sunny at school today. I pulled out my phone and showed her the hour by hour forecast for today...rain, rain, rain. We'll look for those shades later!
4. I think my BFF and I are going to meet for happy hour tomorrow. I can't wait to see her and get to talk for more than a few minutes on the phone.
5. K's boss has laid down the law on cell phone use in her dept. so now I don't hear from her much at all during the days she's at work. We didn't text a lot but it was nice to just check in. Now she has to text me when she goes to the bathroom or just before she's going on break so we can meet up for a few minutes.
6. I have to say that working at the same location does have its benefits as N2A and TWB can attest! We don't have the same schedules but just meeting up for a coffee break is quite a treat!
7. We got just a bit of sun yesterday afternoon and my allergies came back with a vengeance.
8. I have to go to San Fran for a work meeting next week. I am sharing a room with a coworker I don't know well. Should be interesting...
9. This weekend is supposed to be sunny. I hope it actually happens so K and I can spend a bit of time outside...but a day of movies and snuggling on the couch doesn't sound too bad either.

1. With all this ttc stuff, I'm trying to kickstart my health so I started Yoga and I'm loving it!
2. At 165lbs I am by far the heaviest girl in the class.
3. Yoga and walking have sped up my metabolism. I am SO SO hungry all the time!
4. Because of 3 I went out for the second time today to get a snack - came back with LOTS of food.
5. Ate a ton of hummus. Will likely be suppressing windy cramps in an hour or so
6. Can't stop thinking about our baby - we're due to do our first insemination this weekend some time.
7. Hope I don't have to call the RE out on Easter Sunday!
8. My GF says, 'Oh, you're breathing, and therefore you are thinking about a baby'
9. Tonight I *will* clear out one bag/box/drawer out of the spare room - hopefully soon to be nursery.
10. Worried about our smallest dog with our baby when it comes. She isn't doing well around our friend's baby - we had to muzzle her the other day
1. I was at work till nearly 3 AM last night/this morning. Sent my last email to my boss at 2:47 AM. She hasn't said a thing about all the extra work I did to pull off a successful major media release today.
2. I am falling asleep at my desk. See #1.
3. I think it is hilarious that S posted a link to the coffee she wants. She already told me in the car this morning that she wants me to get some for her at the next gift-giving opportunity or, you know, "just because."
4. Funny thing is, when someone tells me they want something, I usually get them anything *but* what they specifically asked for. Where's the creativity/fun in buying from a list?
5. The last thing I got S as a gift after a specific request from her is sitting in our basement, unopened, nearly 3 years later. (And that $300 item probably costs $50 now. Hmmph.
)
6. I am usually the family chauffeur, but I just struck a deal with DW to have her drive home. Wahoo!
7. I *love* *love* *love* all the little conversations the kids are having with each other lately. It is AWESOME. I love hearing them problem solve/reason together.
8. DS cleaned up their room last weekend, and it's stayed immaculate ever since. Every night he asks if he can vacuum some more. He's very proud that he's not scared of the vacuum any more (DD still is).
9. I am leaving work 10 minutes early today! Livin' on the edge!
10. Yes, S, we can totally color eggs with the kiddos on Saturday! Pinterest here I come!!

finally blogging again at This Will Be: An Adventure
1. K drives me crazy sometimes, and not in a good way.
2. Over the past week, we've had several conversations about general responsibilities in the relationship, and she agreed she'd pick up some of the "big" (i.e., financial) stuff and I'd pick up some of the household stuff (i.e., making dinner more often). The truth is I've been feeling like all of the big stuff is on me, and it's a lot of pressure (especially when I have to figure out all of the money but don't have control over money decisions, like when she decides we'll go on a super expensive cruise with her family this summer that we just. can't. afford.).
3. So today, when I asked her whether she'd paid the nanny, she said yes. I asked how many hours it had been, and she said, "I don't know." I asked how she paid her if she doesn't know how many hours, and she just threw out a random number that was too high. Seriously? I mean, seriously? So now I'm mad. Ugh.
4. We've spent so much time at IKEA it feels like a second home.
5. I think we'll go with an IKEA kitchen after all. It's so much cheaper than everywhere else, and people I know who have IKEA kitchens are pretty happy with them. There's a part of me that's afraid it will be cheap quality-wise, though. I guess you get what you pay for... But we don't have a whole lot to play with here, so that's that.
6. J knows most letters now. It's pretty darn unbelievable.
7. I came home a bit earlier than usual and got to play with him in the playground and at home. Happy mama.
8. I still don't have my Brazilian driver's license. My brother was supposed to send it to me weeks ago (he received it before the end of January), but it seems as though he just put it in the mail last week. UUUUGGGHHHH!
9. I guess I'm a little frustrated today.
10. Maybe I'll watch an episode of Alias as a treat to myself!

We have an IKEA kitchen that was installed by the previous owners just before we bought the house (we bought a flip) and have been perfectly happy with it. Granted we've only lived in the house 3.5 years so I cant speak to longevity but no complaints so far!

I understand this one and I'm sorry you are feeling this way. Although for me #2 is okay. I might say I want things a bit more balanced but in reality I like the control and having the main parenting responsibility gives me comfort.
I get this too. L has been home for the past 2 months waiting on feedback from her committee (I am about to kill them.) Although being solo sucks in some ways (never getting a break, not being able to plan non-kid activities without paying $12/hr for a sitter, etc) I am also missing doing what I want with the kids when I want to do it. If I want to have a lazy morning in our pjs and let the kids watch too much Cartoon Network/Wii while I lounge around, there is no one telling me that we need to clean out the garage, rake the leaves, etc (my wife hates to be lazy!) But I hear you about always being the primary parent.
