TTC after 35

Testing Advice

So I had my AMH done last month and it was 2.

I am supposed to get my CD3 blood test tomorrow but I am not sure.  I had planned on doing the HSG next week but just found out my insurance won't pay for it and we can't afford it right now.  Stupid Insurance.

My husband is starting a new job in August and we will have amazing benefits so if we still aren't pregnant at that time then I can do all of the testing.

So I guess my question is this:  should I bother doing the CD3 blood draw tomorrow or just wait?  Is there a point w/o being able to do further testing?

Thanks for any advice ladies!

Re: Testing Advice

  • Is there information you were hoping to obtain from the CD3 bloodwork? Have you had your FSH tested previously? If you were to get information that you should be agressive in your ttc efforts would you pursue it before August? If you still plan on trying naturally until your hubby's insurance kicks in I'd probably wait. Chances are your bloodwork will be fine but sometimes it can add stress to have to analyze all those numbers, plus your FSH fluctuates from month to month and as we all know, the numbers don't always dictate your success..

  • I have not has my FSH tested.  I am getting the testing done b/c my OB suggested it since we have been trying for 5 cycles.  We wouldn't be able to do anything until DH starts his new job in August anyway so I guess it makes since to wait and try on our own until then.

  • I would go ahead and get your CD3 testing done while you wait.  You can still have a great AMH and a crappy FSH (i.e. me).  At least you can plan your attack while you wait for your DH to start his new job.
