Can a sister pleeeaase catch a break?

So you've heard me talk about my beautiful half-face, therapy, blah blah. Went for Grant's two week check up today, and everything was going really well until he pushed on his navel with a q-tip and it turned into a hot mess. Now we're in the hospital on IV antibiotics, lumbar puncture, etc. My poor baby is having a really rough day. They're going to do a ultrasound later to see if it's anything more serious that's connected, but for now, we could use some good thoughts and prayers. Anyone have something like this happen?

Is it like an infection? Oozy and gross?  If so, I had a friend that it happened to her little guy.  His cord stump fell off, but it was nasty and infected under.  He was in the hospital on IV antibiotics for 7 days and then oral at home.  It cleared up and he has no lasting affects from it.  He spiked a temp, so they did a spinal tap because of his age, and I'm not gonna lie, it was scary, but he did just fine. 

Hang in there and I hope that your guy is fine!

Yeah, that sounds like it. It had a pus pocket that's probably some kind of staph, but the doc wants to make sure it's superficial and not tunneling internally. Glad to hear about your friend's baby. 7 days? Oh goodness!
