Dd is seeing an allergist on Thursday. Not sure what type of test is being done but I was told the appt would take 60-90 min. My dh stays home w her and could take her to the appt but I'm nervous about her being upset/in pain bc of whatever tests they'll do. The only reason I hesitate to take the day off is I've taken more than usual this year (hello 1st time mom!) and it's the day before a holiday. Wwyd?
Re: testing for 9 month old
I actually just got back from our first allergy appointment. It took so long because the Dr first came in and asked all sorts of questions. Then did this needle sticks on the back that he had to keep coming back to check. My son didn't cry for the small two needle prick. When he did the set with 6 needles he cried for a few minutes then went back to ripping the exam room paper. It wasn't as traumatic as I thought it would be. Good luck.

I just took my 1 year old twins for their first appt (DD had seen another allergist once before) today, they did skin testing, physical exams, and we spoke with the doctor. The appt took a while, but there are two of them. Neither baby was bothered by the skin testing at all.
When it was just DD, I went by myself. When we did a previous challenge with DD, I also went by myself. One person per baby should be okay
That being said, I liked being there to speak with the doctor.
