I am the mom of 2 wonderful little boys!
As I wrote last week, my OB wanted to induce me on Friday since my fluid was low and Danny was a bit sluggish on the u/s.
We arrived at midnight on Thursday and got some cytotec to hopefully put me into labor. Friday they started pitocin and things went smoothly from there.
My labor was longer than it was with Jacob (8 hours) and that made me antsy and frustrated. My water finally broke around 3pm and I got an epidural. Things were still moving slowly for my liking, but I think that's because my labor with Jacob was so quick moving.
I went into really active labor around 8pm and was finally ready to push around 10ish. Everything got set up and I started to push at 10:30 and he was born at 10:38pm. Yep that's right, 8 minutes, 3 contractions and about 6 pushes and he was out.
He weighted 7lbs, 1oz and was 21" long. Because I was positive for Group B Strep, they wanted to monitor him for the full 48 hours. So, we didn't get home last night until 10.
And then my mom, my savior, offered to take Daniel overnight last night so that Adam and I could get some sleep. I was really running on empty since I didn't sleep hardly at all Thursday night in the hospital and then Friday or Saturday night with the baby.
He's a great eater and loves to be held all the time. That will be fun, right?
I'm feeling pretty good...a little emotional, but good.
And I cannot say enough about how amazing Jacob is being with his baby brudder. He wants to see him, say hi to him, kiss him, hold him. He's just so sweet. Of course, my mom is here right now and Adam is home for 2 weeks, so he'll get a lot of attention.
Thanks so much for all of the congrats on FB. We feel really blessed right now with these 2 healthy boys.
