I dropped DD!

Pretty sure DD is ok, but as I was getting her out of the swing (a lower travel swing), and as she was flailing her arms, I lost my grip and dropped her.  Her midsection hit the swing leg.

She immediatly screamed and pooped a huge diaper.  I was able to calm her down and then undress her to see if she was ok.  No visible marks, and I she didn't cry or fuss as I pressed on her midsection.  I will be so much more careful.  Typically I bend over to get her, but I think I'll be sitting down in the future (once I can bring myself to actually use the swing again).

  • Oh no! I am sure she is okay. She didn't hit her head did she? I am always scared I am going to lose my grip on DS getting him out of the tub.

I second this. I am terrified of holding a wet squirming baby.

  • If it makes you feel any better, about a month and a half to two months ago, I put DS on a pillow on the couch while I quickly ran downstairs to put something in the refrigerator. I heard a thump, followed by DS crying. I ran upstairs and found him on the floor face down. I about died. I scooped him up, convinced I had injured him severely and the minute I picked him up he smiled at me. Needless to say, he doesn't lay on the couch by himself anymore.

  • Thanks!  I grabbed her, so her head didn't hit anything (thank God!).  I've always been super paranoid about bath time too and have never attempted a bath without DH.  She has been in a pretty good mood today, so glad it's not a fussy day (so far).

  • Oh how scary!!!

When DD was three weeks old my husband fell down the stairs with her in his arms.  He bruised his back pretty bad but DD was OK!

I fell down the stairs with DD too. Used my elbow to stop us/ protect her. Yeah that hurt and scared the crap out of me. She was asleep and just woke up and looked at me like "whoa what just happened"

  • She should be fine. Babies are tougher then you think. They do get sqeezed out of a little whole when born, If your really worried you can always call your Ped to get some advise. You all are doing a great job and congrats on all the babies.
