A lot of times when my daughter feeds (she's been overambitious lately, doing 70-80ml). I burp her the best I can but a while later or sometimes when I put her down after about 10 minutes milk comes out of her nose. It scares the crap out of me because obviously she is very uncomfortable. Doctor says this is normal?? Is it or does this sound like reflux??

Re: Possible reflux?
My MARRIED Bio
If you can, you might try keeping her elevated for 10-15 minutes after eating before putting her flat on her back.
Does it seem like she's in pain when she spits up? How does she seem while she's eating, and after she's finished? If you feel like it's not "normal", call the pedi back. Make a list of her symptoms.
Our daughter would scream during and after feedings, arch her back like crazy, cry when she spit up -- it was really apparent she was in pain. It's been difficult to get under control, but we're on Zantac and Prevacid now. We had an upper GI last week, which also confirmed the severe reflux, but the meds are helping. She's a much happier baby. Good luck!
M has bad reflux - and like PP she would be in a lot of pain while eating, screaming, arching her back pushing away her bottle. She spit up A LOT also but she had all the other signs as well - coughing, sneezing, chewing, arching, crying when laying flat etc. She has had rice cereal to thicken her feeds since the NICU and has been on Prevacid since about 3 months adjusted and does fairly well with out routine, she also eats sitting/semi-sitting and remains that way for 20 minutes after, we try not to lay her flat for 30-45min at least and incline her sleeping places to 30 degrees. there were lots of times that she would spit up and it would come out of her nose - in fact it happened just the other day - if you are concerned about reflux talk to your pedi - spitting up alone might not be reflux at all
Yup, this and all the way. I know the spit-up is scary but are there other symptoms?
