ttc iui#2 - 11dpiui - any advice or been through similar?

Hello. A little background - I went off of birth control bc we wanted to get pregnant and for over a year never got a period and wasn't ovulating. It turns out my body is in survival mode bc I have lost a lot of weight over the past few years and my body thinks I wouldn't survive if I got prgenant. So it wont produce the hormones needed to ovulate.

I started Gonal-F injections and we decided to also do the IUIs. We are now on our 2nd IUI and are at 11dpiui. On Wednesday (7dpiui) I went for blood work to check if ovulation occured and it came back at 28.

I have been having a lot of differences this try that I didn't have with the 1st one. For a few days right after the iui I had some pain in my right ovary. I also have swollen bbs that are very sensitive, and now yesterday and today (days 10 and 11dpiui) I have had some slight AF cramping. Which has me worried but I am praying that it's a good sign since this didn't happen the first time around.

I took a pee test on day 7 (way too early, I was being stupid) and day 10, both were BFN. I am thinking about trying another test tonight or possibly tomorrow morning. Any advice?? Has anyone else been through these same symptoms and had a BFP??  Anything anyone can provide would be very appreciated! This 2WW is the worst!

Are you taking progesterone?  You get lots of symptoms with fertility meds that are the same as pregnancy symptoms.

You wont find many people here who have had BFP's, most girls have never been pregnant on this board.  Maybe try posting this on PAIF?

I am currently taking a progesterone suppository every night.

I get those symptoms from progesterone.  The 2ww is the worst like you said.  Try not to stress out about it until you can take a test.  Good luck.

I've never had a bfp, but am 8 dpiui today and have similar s/e's. The progesterone suppositories (I am also taking estrace) definitely screw with me. Hopefully you get a + soon, GL.

what do you mean survival mode? are you severely underweight?

The worst part of the 2WW is analyzing every little symptom. We all do it and we all drive ourselves nuts! I never test, but thats just me. I hate seeing that BFN on the stick. So I wait until I am "late" or more than 16dpiui or 16dpo.

No, I am at a healthy weight and body fat. The way my doctor explained it is that since I was overweight basically my entire life (I was 230 at my max) and then over a few years lost almost 100lbs, that my body is set to think that I am supposed to be a higher body fat percentage. And she says that most of the time the body wont reset itself. So even though I am at a healthy body fat, my body thinks it's too low and therefore went into survival mode. So it wont produce the hormones needed to ovulate because it thinks that I would not survive if I got pregnant. But that is not the case at all.
