"er" ending in first and last name?

My husband and I like several boys name that end in "-er"... Parker, Carter, Taylor, etc.  But with the last name Miller, do you think that sounds funny? 

I tend to think that ______er ________er is a little too much -er.  Too rhymey, but my husband thinks it sounds good.

Thoughts?

I agree with you, too much- especially if it is another 'occupation' name such as Carter Miller, Parker Miller, etc.

Our last name ends in er also, and I have ruled out most er names. I think Parker or Carter Miller sounds ok though. Adding the L on top of the er sound in Taylor is what makes it too rhymey to me.

I think it's a syllable thing.  For example 2 syllables -er in the first name (like Parker, Carter) with Miller is too much IMO.  However, a longer name like Alexander Miller would be totally fine.

Thanks for the opinions!  I have to admit, I was hoping everyone would tell me that -er -er was fine and that I was being crazy, cause that would be the easiest for us.  But really, thank you for confirming that it just doesn't sound great. 

I LOVE Benjamin but DH doesn't.  I also like Alex(ander) but DH isn't crazy about it. 

Zack is what I really want to go with but can't because it was used for a close family member's son who is no longer with us -  it would be a painful reminder.

I agree it sounds bad. My last name ends in -er too and I had to give up on the name Harper for the same reason :-(

My friends did this with their daughter (Harper), and I think it sounds awful.

I was in the same boat! Our last name ends in er and I loved a ton of names that ended in er and I agree, it is too much, unfortunatly though . I feel your pain!

Maybe if you found fn that had a third syllable it would work better...
