DD's lack of appetite

For the last few days, Z's been eating a lot less. She's not as interested in her table food anymore, maybe managing to get a handful of bties in, and she's been drinking maybe 4 or 5 ounces of formula every 3 hours or so during the day. She's also been waking up once a night to drink 5 ounces, which she hasn't done in a while. Has anyone else's LO cut down on their intake or do you think this warrants a call to the pedi? She's been acting fine other than eating less. I'm hoping she gets back to "normal" soon. TIA!

ETA: She's always drank less formula than what I read was normal. I thought by this age they should be up to at least 8 ounces every few hours.

i would call the doctor - they will likely want to just check her out.  Perhaps she has an ear infection (DD had two without pulling at her ears) or maybe it is just teething, but it does not hurt to get her checked out, right?

generally at sick visits they ask about her eating so i think they would like to know about the change

Our LO has never drank more than 5 oz. at a time.  When she cut way on her back on her formula last week (3 oz. in 9 hours at DC), we ended up taking her in to the children's hospital at 10pm and we found that she had a version of hand, foot, mouth in her throat.  She was acting fine, but just wasn't drinking or eating more than a few bites.  The dr. we saw, said that they look for 3 wet diapers in 24 hours before they start worrying about dehydration.  I don't mean to scare/worry you, just wanted to share our experience.  Your LO may just be going through a phase, I would just keep pushing liquids.
