This is not necessarilly true. I have a great friend who got PG while EBFing at 3 mos. She wasn't feeding any solids.
I am BFing DS currently and am in my first tri. He is 9mos. old and still drinks the same amount of BM as before he started solids. I do not supplement with any formula, but do pump at work so DS has BM for daycare the next day.

I was still BFing, but he did have solids, and my period had been back for 2 months. I have a friend who had two surprise babies while BF, before her period returned.

I also got pg while EBFing at 5 months pp. We had not started solids, DS wasn't STTN - in fact, he was still waking twice per night to eat, and I didn't have my pp period.
Lactational Amenorrhea Method (LAM) as birth control has some rules. You can read them here: https://www.waba.org.my/resources/lam/index.htm. When my period came back when DS was 4 months old, it no longer became an effective BC method even though we were EBFing, cosleeping, rarely apart, etc. (all of the things that are supposed to stave AF off). I got PG with #2 when DS was 10 months old and we were still nursing on-cue around the clock (including every 2 hours at night) and bedsharing and rarely apart for more than a few hours.
period came back at 4.5 months even though I was EBF'ing without solids. Periods were 45 days apart. DD wasn't STTN. Started solids at 6 months but DD still wasn't STTN. Pregnant when DD was 9 months and we were using condoms!!!
Re: has anyone gotten pregnant while ebf'ing?

So yes, you can get pg while truly EBF.
Yep, three times.
And this current pregnancy was conceived using condoms.
You can imagine my DHs opinion of his sperm. lol

I did! I only had one period and didn't feed my DS any solids. As you can see by my tickers my boys are a year apart.
