1st Trimester

Sharp cramps no bleeding

I've been having a sharp cramp or two occasionally a little higher than normal on my left side, but I'm also having period like cramps, light and more intense, as well. I'm freaking myself out about an ectopic pregnancy. Have you ladies had an cramps like that?

Re: Sharp cramps no bleeding

  • don't freak!! you're probably fine :)

its just the baby attaching itself to your uterus.

I wouldn't worry too much, but if it gets bad enough that it doubles you over, or you can't stand or walk, I would definitely call your doctor. Also, if you have any bleeding. If you have any shoulder pain or feel like you are going to faint, get yourself (have someone else drive you) to the hospital asap, because that is a sign of a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. I definitely don't mean to freak you out, I just want you to be aware.

You are probably fine though, as long as the pain isn't severe. I would try a warm bath or a heating pad, and definitely lots and lots of relaxing. Good luck, and I hope you feel better!

  • I'm in my 9th week and am still having cramps like that on and off. It's scary for sure but according to my RE and Dr. Google, completely normal. Hang in there, Hon.
