Infertility

ET #1- Complete

Let the 2ww begin.

I'll be honest, I hesitated posting this.  Not b/c I don't think there's going to be support, you ladies are amazing.  I'm so afraid of jinxing myself.  I know silly, but I hate that feeling.

Monday I had my ER (10 retrieved, 9 mature, 6 fertilized, 2 transfered, 4 frozen).  Whew, that's a mouthful!  Of the 2 transfered, one was Grade A, 6 cell and one was Grade B, 7 cell.  I tried doing some research on the grades, but who knows.

So here's my question for those who have had their transfer.  Both my husband and I are amazed at the quality of care we received this whole time.  Is it normal protocol for you to see them in the lab on the microscope via TV streaming, watch the embies go into the syringe (what they insert it with- whatever it's called), and through the process until they transfer it inside you?  If this is normal, sorry, but it was truly amazing for us to see all that.

Now here's to hoping and praying the 2ww goes by quick and these little embies settle in nice and tight.

Re: ET #1- Complete

  • GL in the 2WW. I have never heard of anyone seeing their embies in the lab. That is a good sign to me that this will be a success!

    Multiple ectopics, 2 failed IVF's
IVF #1: Did not get to ET, embies all failed PGD (major chromosomal defects)
IVF #2: We have 2 chromosomally perfect embies as a result of PGD (Boy/Girl) 1 failed the thaw (Girl) Transferred 1, yet ended as a c/p
Thought it was the end of our TTC Journey 6/20/2012

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

  • Congrats...I did see mine on a screen before they were sucked up (lol) and transfered and then I saw (through sonogram) that they were dropped in my ute.  Good luck and snuggle in little ones.

  • My ET was Saturday, and we had the same experience. It was so amazing! The level of care throughout IVF from our RE, the surgery center, and the IVF lab has been awesome! GL to you!

  • Congrats on being done! I had my ET(5dt) today as well.

We got a pic of our two embies under the microscope (although I didn't actually see them myself in the lab), and then we saw them going in. Pretty cool! Overall, I was really impressed with my doctor and clinic. I am really glad that I've now been through the process once and know what to expect if I have to do it again.

    Twins November 2012!

  • Congrats on a  successful transfer and wishing you much success moving forward! Your process sounds amazing, what wonderful support!

This was the same for us.  I kept trying to see the u/s screen, but I was at an angle to it.  I figured it was more importnat for the RE to see it than me, but I would have loved to watch it.  I was fascinated when I watched my breast biopsy on the u/s.

    FX'ed for you!

  • GL!!  I get to see mine up on the tv screen from the lab, then they bring them to the Dr. in the catheter and they are surrounded by 2 airbubbles so when they put them in my ute I can see on the ultrasound when both bubbles pass into the ute.  Then they take the catheter back to the lab to make sure the embryos are all out and they yell "CLEAR"!  lol

We were given pictures of our embies before the transfer, and then were able to see them via TV as they were placed in my ute. It was pretty cool! I was very impressed and pleased with the care of the RE and nursing staff on both my ER and ET days. I now know what to expect for our next cycle.
