I haven't posted here in a while, but was hoping to get some feedback. I was laid off in October of last year. I accepted an offer with another company and started in November. While I am thankful for the job, I just don't think it is the right fit for me. It's very frustrating because I enjoy working. I have been here nearly five months, and I just don't know how long I should wait before making a decision to look for something else, and it's not getting better with time. I feel incredibly guilty because I know how long it took them to recruit for my position and I will have wasted their time and money. I also don't want to burn any bridges. There's layoffs happening at the company, and I know that the company wouldn't think twice about letting me go, but I still feel like I would be letting my boss and coworkers down. Anyone go through anything similar, or have any advice? Thanks for listening

I'd have to agree. It won't look favorable to many employers that you've only spent a short time at your current job--whats to keep you from getting a new job and quitting in 5 months?
I think it takes about a year to really get settled into a job. Why do you think time won't make things better?
That said, if you are truly unhappy or it has to do with the company atmosphere, I would probably start looking now. GL!

Agreed. I have a 6 month stint on my resume and when asked I say it's because my dream job opened up and I took it. It was never my itention to only be there a short time but that's how it worked out!
