Not pregnant yet, but trying and preparing:) Unless we hear something that inspires us otherwise, we have decided on names that we both love<3 I know you girls are gonna tear me apart, but here you go....
Had a dream about it and ever since then I CANNOT get it out of my head. Husband loves it and I do as well. If I were to name her anything else I would regret that I didnt choose what I really loved.
I actually really like Navy, too. Like a lot. I think this is the first time I've heard of Navy as a name. I know people are going to disagree with me, but I think it's a good choice. A bold choice, but a good one if you can pull it off.

What's the point of posting, then?
I think Navy is ridiculous and sounds like you're describing a woman named Alice who's in the military, but whatever. Your boy name is nice.
Or she's describing a blue Alice as opposed to an orange one.
This. I think it's a little silly to make major life choices based on dreams, which tend to be pretty wack. I once had a child named Strawberry in my dream, but I'm not actually going to write that sucker on a real birth certificate.
Oh, because Blue is totally played out and not unique since Beyonce used it.. and it was the name of the old guy in Old School... you have to find a new color to name your kid. ::facepalm::
Navy Alice sounds like a special, decorated lady, who runs the local Bloody Bucket...
I really like Silas Matthew, and I love Alice. Navy is clearly the controversial name on this post! haha.
While it is NMS (as typically, I do not like word names with the exception of flower/ plant names), I think Navy could work as a name. As far as word names go, I much prefer it to Ever, Lark, and some other word names I can't think of atm. I wouldn't worry too much about the color thing; people use Violet as a name, and Violet Alice could still be a purple girl named Alice. Besides, she wouldn't always go by "Navy Alice" if Alice is her mn. As for the military reference I would rather see Navy than Gunner or something to that effect.
Navy is a bit out there and certainly nms. I'd suggest using it yourself for a couple days. Introduce yourself as Navy to any new person you meet and see if you still love it as much. Do you feel weird giving it at Starbucks or repeating it? That sort of thing. That's a LOT of name for a girl to carry.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to introduce myself as Navy. I just looked in the mirror and said "Hi, I'm Navy. And you are...?" I could barely make it out without a straight face.
My name is Astrid and I have gone my whole life w/"HUH?" and "What?" and for the starbucks incident, Ive actually had them call out "Ass-turd." but I know that isnt my name and I love the fact that I got to grow up NOT being one of the 50 Brittanys, Ashleys, Ambers, and other very common names that I hate. If my future daughter doesnt like her name she can very well go by Alice. I appreciate the nice comments.
Re: decided on....
What's with Navy?
Silas is awesome.

All of this.

I saw your girl's name in another post. Navy is NMS. I LOVE Alice.
Silas Matthew is nice.
The boy name is good.
Since I was a child with parents in the Navy and Marines all I can think of is: "Navy Brat."
Alice is nice though.
I like the boys name
girls name is NMS
I mean... is she named after a bean? A branch of the military? A color (like Beyonce's Blue or whatever it was)?

Sorry, I don't like any of them...
