ordering newborn twin caps

Is it so that ALL twins will be born smaller than their singleton counterparts?  I want to order embroidered caps for them to wear in the hospital but im not sure if 0-3 months is going to be too big or if i should go with a preemie size.  what do you guys think?

I bought 0-3 gerber hats and had my girls names embroidered on them and they fit perfectly in the hospital. My girls were born at 37 weeks, 2 days and weighed 5lbs and 6.2lbs.

I bought the twins hats in newborn size for their pictures (born at 36w) and they fit perfect.

Hard to say. Mine were 33 weeks, and the 0-3 would've been huge. The preemie hats were even too big (they were even big on my singleton 34 weeker). I'm sure it depends on the brand too. I think they stretch though, so it seems like preemie size would fit a full term baby too.

Maybe you could get the 0-3 and if they're too big for the hospital, they will at least fit later. You can always use the little hats in pictures. Better too big than too small.
