for those celebrating, what's on the menu? we're hosting our first holiday, and have 18 people coming... i'm having MIL bring a salad, my mom is bringing pies, we were going to order ham and do some roast beef for sandwiches, mac n cheese, a veggie and pineapple stuffing. we're doing a buffet style early dinner...

Re: easter menu? NBR

  • We do brunch with DHs family, dinner/birthdays with my family.  At brunch there is always: Ham, fruit, hashbrown/potato casserole, egg and sausage casserole, stollen, rolls.  Then at dinner with my family (which we rarely eat at because we're too stuffed, though I leave room for one thing!), it's: Ham and stuff to make sandwiches, Hashbrown/potato casserole (what I leave room for!), a broccoli thing, strawberry/pretzel jello... I know there's more but since I rarely eat there I can't remember.  It's honestly been at least 7 years since I've actually been there at the start of dinner.

Plus, with my family we always celebrate my mom and cousins birthdays since they're so close to Easter.  So, I always make a dessert since that's my thing.  I think this year I'm going to make dirt cake, specifically because I want to blog it since it's AMAZING!

  • We are going to both sets of parents on Easter Sunday. Who knows what will be on the menu at his folk's house. My parents always make ham, sweet potato casserole, twice baked potatoes, and another vegetable. I'm in charge of dessert, and both houses requested cheesecake. I think I'll make a vanilla bean cheesecake and some sort of chocolate one as well.
