When DD was born last year i loved just put her in onsies or onsie dresses. Now i feel like though I need more grown up stuff. I bought shorts for her to wear over her onsies this summer - anyone else think their little ones need more then just onsies?

Re: clothes for summer
I just mean last summer - she was in stuff like this and this all the time:
This summer - I have bought her stuff like this
It just seems so much more grown up

i stocked up on summer stuff at a consignment sale yesterday. We're doing lots of little short skirts and dresses, stuff that won't tangle her up when she's crawling, but still cover her booty a little. She just looks a little more "dressed" than when she's just wearing a onesie. I love little rompers too!
And I'll still be dressing her pants a lot for school, even if it's 105 outside, they are running the AC inside and I'm afraid she'll get cool.
I don't see a big difference in those? both are little shorts rompers?

oh I gotcha! We go either way. Some days she wears little rompers like this, which are definitely more babyish -
and sometimes she wears big girl outfits more like this -
exactly and i just bought only big girl outfits for the summer -
keep in mind that i am the dork who teared up when i had to start putting away her 0-3 months clothes

Last summer Ty lived in onesies alone! This year I will not be doing that - he is impossible to get in to a onesie (at least snapped!). I've been buying a lot of t-shirts and little shorts! And polos - I love little polos.
I've been debating how I feel about toddler boys in rompers. They're definitely cute, and I'll probably buy a few, but I think mostly he'll be in shorts and T-Shirts.
I've also bought a few pairs of "daddy shorts" aka athletic shorts. DH wears a lot of those on the weekends out in the yard, etc. and I found a pair that look nearly identical to a pair DH wears more frequently. I put Ty in them two Sunday's ago while DH was OOT, then when he got home he was in the same outfit essentially!
I feel the same way, but strangely enough I don't feel that way about skirts, just pants? I think bc her little pants are so tight, like leggings, i feel like there needs to be volume either on top or bottom or something? I like her onesies with a skirt like this: https://www.target.com/p/Circo-Newborn-Girls-Tiered-Skirt-Blue/-/A-13828181
This is exactly what I was thinking of. Something completely frilling frofroo and girly. God help me when I have a girl...ruffles galore!
I'm the same way with the tucked items. They just bother me. Bell doesnt have any skirts of yet but i just hit a sale at childrens place and got a bunch of different shorts. I just wish i could find some more of the shirts with the onsies under them (one piece) got a few at the Gap but wish they sold them somewhere more reasonable
