Bug Spray

So, bugs are going to be horrible this year!  What is safe to use on our LOs?  I rarely use bug spray on myself because I just never really have an issue, but I know many people do.  I'm anticipating that I'll be wearing bug spray this year though, so I'll probably just wear whatever I get for Ty.

Re: Bug Spray

  • You can use Skin So Soft by Avon or get one of those Off clip on thingies.

  • The maker of CJ's BUTTer has a bug spray that I'm planning on trying out this year.

  • this is a good question! We have skin so soft, but I haven't really researched this yet. Sure we'll need some though with texas mosquitos :(

I've always wonder about the fan things. I mean they create a mist of bugspray right? wouldn't it almost be worse for them to be breathing a constant stream of it than licking a little off their arms? I think I'd almost rather just use the bugspray towelettes and wipe down everything except her hands, which she licks the most?

I have it, and have tested it out - success! We went out for a walk the other night and we live near a marsh. We got totally swarmed with mosquitoes, but no bites! So I guess it must work. LO and I are really prone to bites. We're so darn sweet.

I have also tried California Baby bug spray, which I think I got at Target. It is safe and I think it worked well too.

  • our doctor told us we could spray LOs clothes with bug spray before putting them on.  This was when she was 3 months old, so it might be safer to spray now.
