Just curious if any of you experienced the baby not dropping. Last Tuesday I was 3cm dilated and 60%, but the baby won't drop. I am due Nov 10th and I am getting a littler nervous that I may have a C-section. It is still is the same spot as it has been the whole pregnancy. My MW mentioned that I may have a small pelvis and that would be why it hasn't dropped which would result in a section. Could this cause the baby do be stressed? I can't wait until my appt on Tuesday!

TIA!
Re: Baby not dropping= C-section??
"A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for"
You are only 38 weeks. ?The baby can drop at anytime, including labor. ?You have plenty of time and should not be going into this worrying about this or a possible small pelvis.
Shame on your MW for making you think your baby won't fit. ?It is actually very rare that a woman would grow a baby that is too big to fit. She shouldn't even be able to call herself a MW, IMO.
Stay strong Mama! ?You will birth a baby that is just right for you!

I didn't drop until the actual labor process began due to induction. Like you, I was stressing over a c/s due to an incredibly large fibroid. Honestly, in the whole scheme of things, you seriously will NOT care about getting a c/s vs. vaginal birth.
There are pros and cons with both (tearing, recovery) but in the end, believe me, when you see that little baby it just doesn't matter. There's no predicting these things and you have to be open to either way of delivery so that you aren't setting yourself up for disappointment.
Enjoy that baby!
DS dropped very early (about 34 weeks) and I still ended up with a c/s because he couldn't get past my pelvic bone. I don't think it has anything to do with whether or not you'll get a c/s.
my baby never dropped. i was induced and the strong contractions moved her down. i delivered vaginally.
dont worry too much. i'm sure that a c-section is no walk in the park - but either way you'll be fine! good luck!?
When my water broke, K was "in between floating and -3" so that's not too low. I ended up having to be induced and she dropped almost immediately after pitocin and labor started. I delivered vaginally no problem.
That seems to be a very un-MWish thing to say!
My baby never dropped entirely, when it was time for me to push he was still at 0 station (only half way dropped) and I have a very narrow pelvis.
But its totally do-able! Oh and the little guy had quite the cone head from squeezing through my pelvis but it was rounded out within a couple days!!
I had him vaginally with no complications, it just took a little more pushing work than some people's deliveries do. In other words, you won't be one of those "And I had him on the 3rd push!!" people
I had exactly the situation you are describing. I was measuring ahead the whole time, and the OB kept warning me that the baby might be too big because I have such a narrow pelvis. It ended up that an induction did not work for me- the baby just could not drop, he was too big for me. I had to have a section. (BTW, my DS was 9 lbs 7 oz)
Also, not to scare you at all, but just so you are aware- I have to disagree with JaimeFL about not caring about how your child gets here. I had a touch of PPD after delivering DS, because I was so set on an all natural birth, and against a section, and I never even got to have one contraction, never experienced labor at all, etc. I was depressed after that labor didn't go as planned. I still loved DS just the same, of course, but I did experience some feelings over labor not going as I planned. Just a heads up that if you do feel that way, it is ok, you aren;t the only one.
All that matters ?though is that DC arrives and both you and baby are healthy. GL?
