Stupid Question, I Know

But...why do men think ignoring their children makes the financial responsibility go away? My ex quit his job...burned out, ok, fine I get that. Take some time off. Lord knows I'm about to. But, when asked if he told the AG, he was like...No, why should I?

I reminded him our court order says he can't go more than 30 days between payments without first telling the AG why, and that GOING 60 days will violate the terms of his 15 (until DD is 18) year probation and land him in jail until the balance is paid off...all 16 THOUSAND dollars of it. Background: He didn't pay child support for the first 7 years of her life, and was 25K behind when the state finally caught up with him.

He pft'd me. WTH? She's almost 16...why go this far, and then screw it all up? We're going to end up BACK in court, and it never works out well for him. UGH!!!!

  • He's one of the smartest ppl I know. Sadly, that doesn't mean we always make intelligent choices. He used to quit his job everytime the AG found him. Now, it's a lot faster, with companies in Texas being required to report new hires to the AG within 1 week of hire. LOL, my mom used to work HR and if she didn't have any new hires to report, she said the AG would CALL her to make SURE they hadn't hired anyone. That's dedication!
