I hate to blame preschool, because maybe its just the age, but DD has picked (ha) up the annoying and GROSS habit of picking her nose!!! I've tried telling her big girls don't pick their nose, that's icky, here's a tissue (and give her one every time she does it). Any other tips on making this stop? I don't want to see my sweet little girl with her finger up her nose
Re: how to stop nose picking?? (ick!)
I do believe it's the thing to do at her age.
Charlie, who does not go to daycare, finds it hilarious to stick his finger up his nose and just dig for gold in there.
And this week he has a snotty nose. Unless I catch him immediately after a sneeze, he will wipe it on his arm and then on anything handy. We have snot all over the place... but mostly on me.
I think it's the age. I would tell my kids that we use tissue for that, and I would have to do it over and over. Eventually they stop, at least mine did.
Okay, considering I have encouraged DS to pick his nose (otherwise I have to per our ENT given his last round of hardened boogers and bacteria in his nasal passages), I can't throw stones. But I would encourage using a tissue over her finger, being gentle, doing it only at home and in public or about, blowing her nose instead to try and blow it out.

We tell our daughter to take her finger out of her nose and she immediately pops it in her mouth. Now, that's gross!
