My LO is still BFing 8-12 times a day with minimal solids consumption so I have been wondering if it might help transition her eating habits if we followed more of a schedule. Has anyone done this? Is it a totally terrible idea?
I BF DS on a schedule. We started around 7 months. He BFs at 7:30 when he wakes up, 10:30 before his nap, 2:30 before his 2nd nap, 5pm, and 7pm right before bed. I will occasionally nurse him an extra time if I feel like he's going through a growth spurt or something, but for the most part we stick to this. It has worked really well for us. Good luck!

This is exactly our schedule too. I wouldn't say I decided to put her on a schedule and stop feeding her on demand...it just sort of ended up that this was the only time she demands it...otherwise she's too busy playing, climbing the stairs, crawling inside of small spaces, and generally trying to give me a heart attack...

I don't think it's a terrible idea at all. I am BFing as much as you and hope to move to a schedule once she turns 1. Honestly, BF is a fix-all for DD, so I'm a little scared to stop relying on it. I plan to BF on demand for at least three more months, then we'll see how things go. Good luck!
I still EBF on demand and give him solids whenever I have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My goal is to BF for a year so I will stick to this plan until then.
