Have been MIA for a while - back with a few ?s

Hey Ladies, I have been away for a while but now that work has slowed down I am catching up on my bumping! I have a couple questions for you all...

1. have you added any dairy to your LO's diet? How did you start?

Audrey only has 2 bottom front teeth so solids have been a little slow for us. She is able to "self feed" but they are still pretty soft.  so

2. how have you included any protein in their diet?

THANKS! I am glad to be back!

  • Welcome back!

We started with some plain greek yogurt a couple of months ago. M loves it! He eats it now every day for either breakfast or lunch. We've just added cheese in the last couple of weeks - cubes of cheddar for snack, and cut up grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch some days. We have not seen any adverse effects from the dairy.

He has no teeth yet, but is able to handle some meats. I made a big batch of meatballs and keep them in the freezer, and just break them up in small bits for him. He also likes grilled chicken that I just shred up into little bits. We haven't ventured into anything else yet, but I know others serve up whatever they've made for dinner and the LOs do just fine with it.

  • 1. Yep, we started baby yogurt a couple weeks ago. You find it in the baby food aisle. I think you can try plain regular yogurt too. She tolerates it well (which is weird because she didn't tolerate anything other than soy formula)

    2. We started with a little bit of chicken (we had plain chicken that we cut up in small pieces as finger food). She has had pork chops and ground beef

**when we started meat she didn't have any teeth...she just started getting her 2 bottom teeth. She does just fine with the meat. Helps if it is tender.

  • love your siggy!

    1) We are giving yogurt (plain, organic) and cheese...she loves both!

    2) she has tried all kinds of meat...meat balls and meat sauce are favourites.  Beans are also a good choice since they are soft to chew....but really baby doesn't need teeth to chew.  A only has her bottom two as well and she chews up pretty much anything we give her so long as it isn't too hard.
