My husband loves it, and loves the NN Bridie. Unfortunately they had a dog named Bridget Mary Margaret when he was growing up. I like it, and also Brigid.
I know I'm in the minority here, but Bridget is one of those names that I've just never liked. It just doesn't sound pretty to me. However, it's a nice, solid name and I know a lot of people around here with good taste love it, so don't let my vote sway you!

Bridget would have been a contender for DD's name if it wasn't already used in the family.
I love it. My cousin is a Bridget and we call her Bridget most of the time, but over the years, she has had been called B, Bridge, Bridgie, Bridie, Birdy.

I think it is ageless and timeless. I would never know how old Bridget was if I was looking at her resume. This is important to me when thinking about names.
I don't like it. It is one of the few "classic" names that I don't care for. It just isn't a pretty sounding name to my ear.
