How often is you LO eating green veggies? Usually for breakfast, LO will eat puree fruit or yogurt/some sort of grain w/ fruit mixed in. For lunch, it's usually a meat/veggie (usually sweet potatoes or carrots) mix puree and for dinner I try whatever table food I have around the house. It may be vegetables but it may be something else (tonight it was mashed potatoes and turkey).
I feel like I'm not giving him enough green vegetables. I try to give him leftoever veggies from our usual dinners (broccoli, peas, etc), but he kinda just puts it in his mouth and sucks on it or lets it sit in his mouth without swallowing. Pure green veggie purees (peas or green beans) don't usually go over well with him and I'm lucky if I can get him to eat some if I mix it with fruit he likes. He likes cucumber, but that's about it.
Anyone else have this issue?
Re: Another food post...
How do you get her to drink it?? Straw?? LO doesn't drink from a straw yet.
DD loves spinach in smoothies too, I usually give it to her in a regular cup and help her some, it just makes a big mess
But she likes green veggies only second to meat - her favorites being asparagus (she LOVES asparagus! She pulles it across her teeth and gets all the meat out and leaves the chewier outside), green beans, steamed zucchinni (does that count as a green veggie?), the stem part of broccoli, and sauteed spinach.
I give it to her in a regular cup. But you can make it thicker and spoon feed her, if you'd prefer.
I also second Carla's suggestion of broccoli, asparagus, green beans, and sauteed spinach- DD loves all those, too.
