DD does not like eating. She will take maybe 3-5 bites of a puree before turning her nose up at it. Solid food just gets tossed to the floor. The only thing she will eat is cheerios; she will enthusiastically gobble up as many cheerios as you will let her have.
At her 9mos check, the doc asked about eating of course. I told her that she wouldn't eat much while she was on antibiotics, so I wasn't too sure. (She was on antibiotics three times between mid-Jan to beg of March, so ~30 out of sixty days). ETA: The doc said the meds would make her tummy upset, and she didn't seem worried about it... Should I call the doctor and ask advice on this?
I just don't know how to convince her to eat, and I feel dumb sitting her down three times a day and wasting food. She is BF and nurses all the damn time, so I guess I'm not that worried about nutrition. But from 6mos to 9mos she hardly gained any weight (went from 95% to 55%).
I don't really know what I'm looking for here. Any advice? Thoughts? Words of wisdom?
Re: Food Struggles
DD is not a good eater at all! When we did purees the most she ever ate was 1/2 a jar. We continue to try solids with her and when we find something she likes she will eat a ton. We have found DD to like the most random things. For example I made pizza this weekend and left the sauce off hers and added garlic powder (just to make it easier to eat and cleaner) and she LOVED it. A co-worker also mentioned how her daughter loved mandarin oranges so we tried those and she ate the whole container. She also loves blueberries and carrots and stuffing. I always sit her down to eat something I bought specifically for her and then at dinner I try new foods from what we are eating to hopefully find something more for her to eat.
Keep trying new things and eventually she'll like something! GL I know how you feel. Oh and when I mentioned it to the Pedi on 3-17 he wasn't really concerned and DD is in the 20%.
