  • None, and I am really debating whether I should enroll her in Daisies this fall when she starts kindergarten because her school is full-day. I am a big believer in lots of unscheduled time for little kids.

  • My oldest and middle boys have soccer games on Saturdays, and the oldest just graduated from "mini" soccer, so he now has one practice on a weekday evening, too. I work f/t, so going anywhere after work is a pain, so this is all I can handle for now.

  • I only included things like daisy scouts, riding lessons, soccer, etc.

I also take DS to speech and OT 4 afternoons a week.  I didn't count that because I would lump that in with school, as far as it not being an "extra" activity--it's more like a requirement.   But if you're wondering how many days a week are we driving here there and everywhere, then it should be included because we drive an hour each way to get there and it significantly impacts the other activities we can do.

  • DS has soccer practice 2 nights a week and a game on Sat.  DD has ballet on thursday mornings, but is between sessions right now and doesn't start again until april 17th.  DS only plays soccer in the fall and spring, doesn't do a winter sport, and DD only does ballet.  They each do one activity.

  • DS has swim on the same day that DD has softball practice and plus game day. Today we are signing her up for a jiu jitsu because she really wants to be a ninja lol so that will be another day of stuff.  DD also has dance class one day a week. I wasn't going to get her into jiu jitsu until softball was over but if we sign up by the end of the month she gets a free month. She only has 3 more practices and games for softball left. Dance recital is in June and I don't think she wants to do it any more after that. It is more activity at one time than I wanted but she has a ton on energy so she'll be fine.

Me too.  But we're at 3 days a week and the only reason it isn't more is because I have said no to all the activities dd wants.  If it were up to her she would be in classes every day.

  • Right now, both of my girls take swim lessons 1 night a week and the lessons are at the same place/same time.  Both are in school (preschool at daycare and PreK at the elementary) full time, 5 days a week.  Starting in the fall, older DD will add religious school for 2 1/2 hours on Sunday mornings (younger DD will start the following year) and I am guessing we may end up adding some school related after school activities.  We have tried to never do more than 2 activities at a time so 2x a week total.

  • Right now, 3.  Alex & Taylor each have dance 1 night a week and they both have church school on Wednesdays.

Next week, in April it will change.  Alex is done with dance and will do soccer which is Monday and Saturday.  We'll be running 4x a week for a couple months then.

interesting... I choose to include DD's 2 weekly speech/OT/PT sessions in my tally, b/c even though they're not "extracurricular" in the traditional sense, they require the same amount of time, energy and preclude us from doing something else during that time (like, say, staying at home. sigh.)

  • There for a while it was 5...choir, tutoring (2xs), DI, swimming, gymnastics. DI just ended, I dropped gymnastics (tennis is about to start)...DD wants to quit choir (I said OK after school ends). Tutoring & Swim are requirements. Usually we'd do t-ball in the Spring & sometimes soccer but they didn't seem into it after a few years so I said no this year. I Don't mind but I am not wasting time & money on stuff they aren't even putting a decent effort into. My DD3 isn't in anything (almost 3) but will start swimming in the summer.
  • Technically, 2 "nights."  But, only one is a school night.  DS has scouts on Tues.  DD had dance on Fri and both have activities on Sat AM.  I like it this way since nothing really gets in the way of homework this way.

  • I voted 3. Annalise has swimming lessons every Monday evening (30 min) and soccer every Saturday morning (60 min). Daisies are one Tuesday a month for about an hour.

  • I said three because right now it's four days/nights.  All three of my kids take swimming lessons.  DS and DD1 on Sundays and DD2 on Mondays.  The girls also take dance classes.  They used to be on Thursdays back to back (so 1.5 hours of entertaining a 2-year-old at the studio) but I think we're switching to Saturday classes at the same time for an hour. The girls also take a drama class together on Monday afternoons.  DD2 is also in museum school (a science program) Wednesday mornings while DD1 is at Kindy and I take DS to the museum.  We did have about 2-3 weeks where DD1 had something 6 out of 7 days when one activity was finishing up and another one just started plus some extra practices and random activities.  That was way too much!!

  • 2 - Swimming on Thursdays and Hockey on Saturdays.  I'm not sure what we'll do when T-ball starts... AND DS just informed me that he wants to take piano lessons.  Oh boy.
