Snugli front carrier?

My awesome sister sent me her Moby wrap and her Snugli front carrier after her son decided at 18 months he was done being carried around and refused to be in them for more than 10 minutes.  I have a 2 week old and I live in Guam, the Moby (although awesome for indoor use) makes LO sweat alot and I wanted to try the Snugli, but do I need a newborn insert for a Snugli?  I looked on the website but I didn't see anything about an insert-  What position would I put LO's feet/legs?  LO is already almost 11 pounds so he meets the weight requirements.
