Transfer vent!!

I am being a whiner and dramatic today..... So I was at the movies today seeing Hungar Games with my bff Lynn0926 and my clinic called to inform me on wth we were doing for our transfer and what I thought would have been a fert report from Friday.  All they told me was of the 7 eggs we got, 4 are embryos and they were going to try to push it to a 5dt but my RE said anything less than 5 would most likely be a 3dt.  So I am scheduled for tomorrow.  I am super bummed....I feel like this is an EXACT re-play of IVF #1.  My RE said that 25% of embies die every day you put off transfer, gee thats wonderful, so I am now expecting to have 3 by tomorrow morning.  To top it off they didnt even give me quality or grading!  She said she would call me tomorrow morning to give me that info.  I am so frustrated, I know it only takes one to make a baby...but our goal this time was to harvest enough eggs for freezing," just incase".  I am pcos, I had 38+ follies, 9 of which were over 18mm at trigger....whyyyyy can they not get me more than 4?  I am doubfounded when other pcos gals get 30 eggs, how is that possible?

I had 9 eggs at ultra sound. At the retrieval they got 5. By transfer we only had 1 for a 3 day transfer with so so quality. I feel your pain. Wishing you lots of luck for your transfer!

Thanks ladies, I am lucky to still have four at this point...that negative side of me creeps in when things don't go the way we were trying for.  GL to all the other ER/ET's this week too!!

We have (severe) MFI, too, and our embryos tend to die off after day 3, when the male DNA takes over.  So my RE insists on *always* pushing to day 5 in hopes of finding the best embryo.  The more I've researched, the more I believe in this philosophy . . . at least for us.  I really hope this cycle works out for you.  If it doesn't, and if I were in your shoes, I would get another opinion.

Good luck with your transfer and dont worry about how your number. 4 is great and remember it only takes 1. Its quality over quantity. 

I had 20 make it to blast and transfered 2 perfect blasts at 5 day transfer and my good friend only had 2 not so good quality at 3 day. Her doctors told her her odds were very unlikely that it would work, where I was given extremely high odds of success. She is now 6.5 weeks pregnant and doing extremely well(!!!) while I sadly miscarried at 5.5 weeks. You just never know what can happen so stay positive and keep your hopes up. Good luck!

Well, I am officially a believer in 3dt's, so I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that you aren't able to make it to a 5dt.  I posted this the other day for Kellygksu, and it definitely helped me feel better during the 2ww when I was fretting about not making it to a 5dt.  There are so many 3dt success stories over on PAIF!

I'm sorry, though, that you feel like this cycle is a repeat of the first.  But I don't think that's true... remember, IVF is an odds game... you didn't hit it lucky with "the" perfect embie/embies last time, but that doesn't mean that you won't this time!  I think it's all about finding that perfect egg that is destined to be that perfect embie and perfect baby... and I hope that the perfect baby is in the batch to transfer tomorrow
