Has anyone experimented with buying a new mattress for their Graco Pack n Play? The one that comes with it barely provides any cushion between the bottom of the pack n play and where the baby will go. There might as well not be a mattress. If you've purchased a mattress for your Graco Pack N Play would you please recommend the one you bought if you're happy with it?
Thanks!
Re: Graco pack n play and buying new mattress
I'm pretty sure for safety reasons the mattress cannot be more than 1" thick. Additional cushioning is not recommended. Look at the manual for specifics for your model. You could always add a quilted pnp sheet if you want it more plush.
DD slept in a pnp for a week while we were on vacation and she was fine. Babies don't weigh much so they don't need as much cushioning.
No, I've always used the provided mattress and it has never been a problem. Your LO won't know the difference. Newborns need to sleep on a firm surface and the included mattress is made to a specific size and thickness for a reason. The manual and playard tag specifically say not to use another mattress. Additional mattresses or other padding can lead to entrapment, suffocation, and injuries due to climbing and falling.

when DS was a newborn, we just used the mattress that came with the PnP. Once he got older and we used the PnP for hotels, I got this mattress:

it provides the perfect amount of cushion and he loves it, although it takes up a good amount of room in the car!
This is what I bought ^
