We've had an offer in on a house for a couple weeks (short sale) and it looked like we were just going to have to wait out the bank. Two days ago she tells me that she forgot to mention we're in competition with another couple. Today we get news that the bank approved the other offer except for one stipulation and our offer wasn't even reviewed. We submitted another offer but it doesn't look like we're going to get it. Now, I'm newly pregnant and living in a 2 bedroom condo for who knows how long. Please send good thoughts and prayers that we can get this house!

We are also in the process of buying a home. We were working on a short sale for awhile, but then our timeline for moving out of our rental was bumped up. We decided to stop pursuing the short sale for more certainty with a normal sale.

 

I would say if you have the time to hang in there with the short sale. They take a lot of time (months to a year) and maybe the other couple can't wait that long.
