Preschool what would u pick?

We're not going with our school districts preschool (or regular school either).  I've found 2 options in the district were hoping to send him through school of choice.  Which would u choose.

1.  Private owned preschool, already saw facilities, very nice.  Located in desired school district at city community center but not affiliated with district in any way.  Closer to our house.  $1200 per year.  Has monday-wednesday afternoon class that would work with dh's work schedule.  

2.  School district preschool in the desired district we hope to get into.  $900 per year.  May or may not influence if we get into kintergarten - 12 in that district since that is a lottery type thing.  But we'd already be in that district if only in preschool and hopefully with same kids  as he'd go to school with.  They only have tues-thurs afternoon which doesn't work with dh's schedule.  I'd have to rearrange my schedule at work a lot.  My work is flexible but is it worth doing for a year?

I would have to switch my day off from fri to Tuesday.  We'd still need a grandparent to pick up and drop off on Thursday's.  We'd have to buy at least 2 carseats to make this happen.  It's doable and work will let me do it but I'll be losing my long weekend and a full day with him.  Kwim?  

I want to do option 2, dh wants option 1.
