showering?

Now that LO is likely mobile, what do you do with baby when you shower?  I now have to get up at my weekday times on the weekends if I expect to get a shower in since I need to do this before she wakes up.  I'd really like to be able to sleep in until she wakes up (today was actually 8 a.m....but that was probably thanks to the two hour play time we had in the middle of the night).

And too, I realized during 'playtime' that I think we need to move some furniture around a bit.   Right now, her changing table buts up to her crib...she was reaching into the baskets on the shelves of her changing table and pulling things out.  Ugh!

And finally...she is getting herself into sitting position all by herself.  I'm not even sure how long she's been doing this.  I hadn't yet witnessed this until last night...she was playing on the floor and I was reading a magazine and just caught it out of the corner of my eye and it appeared it was something she's had some practice with.

DD gets up at 7 and goes down for her morning nap around 9 or 9:30 so that's when I shower.  I usually put her in her crib and by the time I'm out of the shower she's asleep.  Occasionally if she won't nap or we have somewhere to be in the morning I'll put her in her crib with a few toys while I shower.  She's not crazy about it but it's a safe place.

DH and I take turns watching her while the other gets a shower or if one of us is alone we just shower during her first nap.

It's part of our morning routine. After I change his diaper, nurse/bottle-feed him and get him dressed, I put him in the Exersaucer in his room with Queen's Greatest Hits playing before we head down for (solids) breakfast.

If I can't do it during a nap (or MH can't keep an eye on her), I put her in the PNP with a bunch of toys, leave the PNP right outside the door and leave the door open.  I try to keep the shower as quick as possible.  Seems to work fine for now.

I SAH with DD, so I just shower while she's napping in the morning, which is usually around 9:45 or 10 am. If I know that I have to be out of the house before she takes her morning nap, I shower in the evening before bed.

Usually I just bring him in the shower with me if DH is gone. He sits on the floor and plays with bath toys while I clean up and then I wash him really quick and call it his bath for the day. He loves having the water hit his head and face though so it works for us. It's going to be a sad day when he gets too old for showers with me (which is coming soon I think).

I've also just let him play in the bathroom while I shower. We have a shower stall with a glass door, so I can at least see his outline to know what he's doing.

On weekdays, when I work, I shower before he gets up. If I have to shower when I'm home alone with him at other times, I bring this rocker into the bathroom and strap him in and give him a bunch of toys. He's usually happy playing for 10-15 minutes, before he starts squirming to get out and all the toys are on the floor.

I usually just have him in the bouncy seat in the bathroom with me BUT now he is too big for it so I just put him in his crib with some toys and aim for a quick 5-7 min shower. Sometimes I will at night so DH can watch him, its definitely getting harder!

I shower either during first nap or I put him in his crib with some toys.

I put down the bathmat and plop him in the bathtub with some toys. After I'm all clean I let him play in the water for a few. He loves the sprayer.

I try to do it when she's sleeping or I will put her in her playpen and turn on Nick Jr.  Which sometimes works.  I think I am going to start showering at night because it's getting harder to get more than 5 min of shower time.

I put her in her play pen with toys that she only gets to play with while she is in there. So they are like "new" toys. She actually loves it! I put her in there while I get ready as well! Works perfect for us!

I try to shower at night when DH can watch him for a bit before bed. If that is not possible. I bring him in the bathroom with some toys and shut the doors.

The cabinets have locks on them and he cruises around the bathroom and usually stands plastered on the glass shower door trying to get in!

Mostly we all shower together at night. But if I have to take a shower during the day, I just bring DD with me. She loves to sit on the floor with the water on her- she laughs and tries to drink the water!

During the week when I'm working I'm usually in the shower before DS even wakes up. On my days off I just put him in the crib with a few toys and take a quick shower or I will shower the night before. Heck, some days I don't even bother! Like today! It's jammie day for baby and mama since DH is working two doubles in a row!

I shower mostly during nap time or after Emma goes to bed. Occasionally I'll throw a bunch of toys in the crib to catch a quick one while she's playing. Btw, I'm completely jealous of how late Stella sleeps. Em rarely sleeps past 6

The PNP with toys - I wheel it over to the door of the bathroom which is in our bedroom so I can see her.

My LO is only semi mobile, but he goes in the doorway jumper while I shower and get ready. He has fun with it. I usually shower just before his solids breakfast.

I either shower when he's napping or ask DH to watch him while I shower.

She for a with me. However, we have a bench in the master bath that her tub sits on. So she plays while I shower

I put him in the pack and play where I can hear and see him, or take him in with me and multi task.

On the weekdays I shower before Liam wakes up (if he wakes while I'm in the shower DH gets up).  On weekends  DH & I take turns watching Liam and  showering...

 

If I was home alone and needed a shower I'd put Liam in a playpin with a few toys...

i either shower during his morning nap if I can or lock him in the bathroom with me with some toys.  He keeps opening the shower curtain and getting really wet though so this is not ideal.....haha!!!

This exactly. Or if it can't be done at nap time, I put her in her jumperoo in front of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for 15 minutes.
