  • Glad we brought the baby bjorn and stroller. Wish we didn't bring more then 2 toys.

We went to Florida when DS was 6 months. We bought diapers and food. For Mexico, i'd bring those things. Pack light!  At 6 months DS was entertained by everything around and didn't need anything really.

  • We just got back from a week in DR, Max was 6.5 months old. There were a few things I was glad I brought -

-a long sleeved, footed sleeper - I packed a lot of short sleeved things thinking it would be hot, but I was glad to have this one for sun protection as well as mosquito protection at night, something I hadn't really anticipated.

-I introduced a bottle of water (I EBF) to keep him extra hydrated.

-I brought jarred foods including a couple jars of prunes in case of constipation.

-And lots of toys that are easy to clean sand off! The best was a tip I read on some blog or another - to bring a bath book. It was great. I attached it to his stroller, it was easy to clean/pack and kept him occupied!

-Oh and two things every parent needs - grandparents to come along for babysitting and TRAVEL INSURANCE just in case!

     Happy travels!

  • Make sure you bring extra clothes!  Like more than you think you'll need -- unless you'll have access to a washer and dryer.

  • We travel all over the US for work - planes almost once a week! and just came back from Australia where my family lives.  I bought the johnny/jenny jumper that you can attach to a door frame in the hotel room.  You have to watch them while they're using it if the door frame is narrow but it was fantastic. Also bought a moses basket for sleeping which he felt cocooned in, and he could also sit up in a play with his toys when he was awake, even in the airport security line.  The basket worked perfectly with the chicco liteway stroller I bought which fully reclined - so awesome!! - both because the moses basket and graco car seat fit in it when laid flat, and he could also take naps in the stroller if we were out for the day.  I wish I had bought the liteway stroller earlier.  So useful!!
